History: A Gift For Friends
It all started in December 2004 — family from all over the globe was about to descend on us for Christmas and we faced the problem of what to give as presents to the male relations. In order to keep everyone happy, I came up with the idea of the Kentchurch Butler and made one for each of them, twelve in all. Each butler was stamped with the recipients' initials, and each had a bottle of champagne resting on the butler's tray. The response was amazing. By the end of the holiday I had been asked to make another twenty. By the end of the following year I had made over fifty for people who had seen or heard about the butlers through word of mouth. This continued until in 2008 when I decided to come out of retirement and turn the hobby into a business. Since 2009, I have received orders from as far a field as Australia, the USA, Greece, Italy, Holland, Spain, Ireland, France, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia, and even The Cayman Islands! In fact I have now made over 2,500 that have been dispatched all over the world ! Everyone seems to agree it's a marvelous gift, very original and a definite talking-point!

Introducing Oscar!
Oscar was the original model that started Kentchurch Butlers 14 years ago! He was copied from a model that was made in 1922 and his traditional Gaulish nose has been retained throughout the “Oscar” series. Each Butler is made and painted to order, marked with the date it was made and given a unique number. When you receive a butler you automatically get a certificate of authentication with it.
